The Course
The course is designed for people who wish to acquire the practical skills required to gain
employment within the greenkeeping industry.
Entry Requirements
Applicants require a minimum of 4 Standard Grades at 3 or 4, one of which should be
English. Applicants with a mature attitude who are seeking a change in career are
welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis. Applicants should have a keen
interest in the greenkeeping/golf/sports industry.

On successful completion, students can progress to the HNC Golf Course Management,
SVQ 2/3 Sportsturf or employment.
HNC Golf Course Management

The Course
The course is designed for people who wish to acquire the necessary skills to take up
managerial positions within the greenkeeping industry.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have 2 Highers at C or above or a National Certificate in a relevant
subject or an SVQ Level 2 Greenkeeping qualification. One year's work experience is
helpful and Distance Learning students should be employed within the industry and have
completed a craft level greenkeeping qualification. Applicants with a mature attitude who
have experience but no formal qualifications are welcome and will be assessed on an
individual basis.

industry.

Potential students should have completed a National Certificate in Greenkeeping or

National Certificate and Higher National Diploma in Golf Course Management and then
into the final year of the BA Golf Tourism at the University of Abertay. Successful
completion of the course can lead to management opportunities on golf courses both at
home and abroad.
